Supervision of DEGIRO

DEGIRO is a private limited company, “Besloten Vennootschap”, according to Dutch law. As per August 1st 2020, DEGIRO is fully owned by flatex AG. Please find more information here.

DEGIRO has a two-tier board structure consisting of a Board of Directors and a Supervisory Board. The Board of Directors is responsible for the day to day management of the company and the long-term strategy. Within the Board of Directors, there is a division of responsibilities with each of the Board Members having their own focus points. Our Supervisory Board is responsible for supervising and advising the Board of Directors. We believe that a two-tier board is the most complete setup to assure correct checks and balances within the company.

Apart from these boards, DEGIRO operates under behavioural supervision of the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). The license of the AFM authorised DEGIRO to perform investment services since 17 September 2009. Next to that, the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) offers prudential supervision of.
